Shrinking OLE in print preview mode.

    Hi All,

I have a database that creates an operatives time sheets. The data base uses their working hours to calculate other things so the timesheets have become a by product of the original db intent but speed another process up non the less.

So, i have copy and pasted the standard time sheet into a report. Once pasted the table becomes an unbound OLE that cannot be re-sized. I can rezize it but not the individual fields like i could in MS word.

I then put text boxes over the top of the required fields with the control source of the hours and operatives names etc....

It all works great, until i hit print or print preview, which makes the OLE (table) shrink leaving the overlaid text boxes out in no mans land.

What is make the OLE shrink. It's so confusing as even when i view the report in report & layout view everything looks great?

    Any suggestions please?

I appreciate that i might be doing this in a "rough" way but i thought it would be quicker than tying my db to another office document?

    Thanks.

Why not just re-create the format instead of relying on an OLE object? it may be tedious but at least you'd get the results you want.

    Hi rpeare,

Not quite sure what you mean?

Do you mean to build the table directly onto the report itself?

Do you know if there is a way the table can be copied into access as just a table and not an ole? Just like a table copied from excel into word?

    Thanks for your help!

Get away from OLE objects, you do not need them.

If your data is stored in a table, create your report based on the table

If your data is the result of a query, create your report based on the query

Add the fields to the report that you want and then modify it until it has the look you want.

Then you don't have to manipulate an OLE object every time you open a report.
