    Split Database

I split the Access database for multiple users. I copied the front-end into the user's folders all on the same server. All tables listed were linked to the back-end of the database. The next data I updated a few of the tables via the front-end database. The front-end was updated; however all of the tables were no longer linked back to the back-end and the users coped front-end databases were not updated but remained linked. What am I doing wrong?

Firstly, the reason to have more than one front-end is so that they reside on the users' personal desktop; if they are all going to be on the server then it is better to have only one front-end.

One of the front-ends isn't linked to the correct back-end, what you are describing is not possible if all data is being updated into the same table in the same back-end. Be very very careful of having copies of databases.
