Making a leap from Access 97 to Access 2010

Hello,



I work for a company that is still using Access 97 for a database they run query's on daily. They run into many problems with 97, including sharing the database on the network between 3-4 other users.

I figured it would potentially alleviate many problems by upgrading to Access 2010, which I am more familiar with than 97 so would also be easier for me to solve any problems.

I can find many helpful links to upgrading from 97 to 2000 but very few for making the huge leap from 97 to 2010 other than migration guides on Microsoft's website.

I was hoping someone here has performed something similar and could warn me of any pitfalls I might come across while trying to convert this database or provide any links to resources that would be helpful during this process.

What kind of problems?

Is the database split into a front end (FE) and a back end (BE)?

If it is split, does each user have a copy of the FE on their computer?
