Unable to verify the current version

When I backup my current Access Database, either by code or copy and paste, I am then unable to open the backed up copy and get the message ".....was unable to verify the current version'. All info in my version tables match current example.
    What's going on?

Why are you opening backup? Is that message produced by your code?

Went to open a backed up copy to compare some code etc. Backups ask for path to installation files, that seems normal but on clicking OK, instead of letting me search for the files, I get the ...was unable to verify the current version'. notification. Can,t think how my code could be doing this as the problem applies to backup that are older

Interesting is the fact that it applies only to front end backups

I have no problem opening old backup copy of db.
I tested with a split db and doesn't ask for "installation" files. Why would this prompt be normal for yours?

Try opening with shift key bypass.

Is that necessary if you just want to view code?

You can manually open whatever form is used for "login".
