Why won't properties pop up?

In Design View, I have always been able to click on a field then click on Properties. Some times if there is already a Properties column on the right, it will disappear, then re-clicking will bring up the properties display on the right side of the screen. Now no amount of clicking pops up the properties!!! What changed?

Cancel my question, I found my "Properties display" on the very far right. I had squeezed the properties display down to one thin line. Old age is creeping in fast!
