    Pasting into a Form

When I try to paste a record from a staging table in access or from an excel spreadsheet directly into an access form, I get an error that what I am trying to paste is invalid and further states that it could be because I am pasting a value that doesn't match the field format such as placing text in a number field. But when I copy and paste the same record field by field into the form for that record, there is no problem. Anyone run across this before? How can I paste the whole record? It is a datasheet form based on an updateable query. Thanks.

Perhaps you have hidden columns in your source, or you are trying to paste into the pk. Or the columns are in a different order

Yes, those would be the usual suspects but none of those apply. Not sure what is going on.

Are you clicking into an empty row before pasting?
You may have to use the paste button on the ribbon. I think that inserts into a new record.
If this helped, please click the star * at the bottom left and add to my reputation- Thanks
