    Creating a .dat file

I have to bill several lines of code using this (dumb) free program for electronic submission, but I use Access 2007 for all my tracking. The software company said if I could create a .dat file from Access, I could easily import the several lines of code into the free system and avoid 2 days of data entry.

I've exported a .txt file out of access, but I'm not quite sure how to export a .dat file or if that is even possible. Any help you can provide would be wonderful!
    THANKS!
