    pasting into multiple cells

I am trying to copy paste one cell's information into multiple cells int the same column but it will only paste into the next cell. Even when I highlight the entire column it will only paste into the next cell. Something that is so easy in excel is so hard in access.

Excel and Access are different animals. The concept of a "cell" doesn't exist in the same sense. What you call a cell is a field (the column) in a record (the row). Presuming you can identify the "cells", you can execute an update query or use a recordset to change field values.

Just a thought, but maybe try to use the Paste Append option from the ribbon.
