selection in yes/no checkbox requires input into next field in a form

I have a form with a yes/no check box. If yes is not checked I want the user to have to have to pick something in the next field of the form and if they check yes, I want them to be unable to pick something in the next field of the form.How do I accomplish this?

I'd use both of these. The first would need to be adapted to check your first field, the second I might toggle the enabled property:

I don't use macros, but you may be able to get one to work.
