Change in Data Type in a table field gives error

    Hi,

I have a simple access database with 2 tables.

The structure of one of the table is as below. It has 234914 records at the moment.

While I am trying to change the data type of DOC_ACCESS_PATH from Long Text to Hyperlink, its giving me below message.

How can I change the data type as needed without getting the error message?

I had done this previously many times without errors. I believe its the large number of records that causing this error. Pls advice.

How do you get yourself into this situation? Is this table the result of an import to a new table?
If so, how about defining the row as hyperlink first and then importing an append to the existing empty table.
