Question change data type in make table query

I would like to change the data type from text in the original table to numeric in the new table. Is it possible? If so please point me in the right direction. Thank you.

I would think using one of the conversion functions would work:

    SELECT CLng(FieldName) AS NewFieldName...

Look in help at the various functions for the appropriate one for you.

Didn't try CLng(), but Val() did end up working. Just like in Excel, should have thought about that sooner! Thanks!
