    Sorting table items

    Good Day All,

I have a table with several fields. Sorting on the ID field and several other fields is working fine. However for some unknown reason there are about 3 field that are greyed out - not allowing sorting on them.

    Can anyone explain this occurrence?

not enough info to answer. show your table detail and the field detail for the ones that are greyed out

If the data type of those fields is Memo, I don't think you can sort on them in the table.

However, if these are memo fields, you can sort on them using a query.

    Thanks for the responses.

The data type for the greyed out fields are Long Text.

    Can this help?

Yes, same as memo, can't sort on in tables.

As you’ve discovered, long text is another name for memo fields
