Setting to suppress automatic labels being attached to controls

Is there a "global" setting for an installation of A2013 where one can specify that there be NO automatic labels included when controls are added to a form?

This worked for me in A2010.

Open a form in design view.
Add a control. (You must do this for EACH type of control).
Configure the control the way you want it. (font size, font color, size, with/without label, etc). Make sure it is selected.
Click on the purple DESIGN (#1) in the menu area, then on the down arrow (#2 in the picture). A menu will appear (I can't copy the options to a picture)
Select the option "Set Control Defaults".
Again, you must do this for each type of control you want to change.

From then on, when you add that type pf control, it will be configured like you specified.

When/If you want to add labels to a control again, copy a label, paste it on a control, then "Set Control Defaults" again.

think that only works for that particular form - create a new form and the control behaviour reverts to 'normal'

I did some googling but could not find a way with vba nor Access options to remove or suppress label associated with control on a form.

    @Ajax,
After further testing, I sit corrected.
Setting the control "default" properties is by form, not global.

Thanks everyone. The defaults nor ability to change on a global Access hasn't changed since A2000.............. I was just hopeful the folks at Dev might have noticed by now.

you would be better starting your own thread - you've hijacked a 2 year old thread..

but since you've asked, delete the label then ctrl-c to reinstate it - but now it will not be associated with the control.

to re-associate the label with the control, delete the label, select the control and ctrl-c to copy it back.

Note a control can only have one associated label and that label needs to be in the same section as the control

Not sure if you noticed that this thread is almost 2 years old. To your point, I wouldn't delete a label and then create a new one in order to break the association. If you delete it then just paste it back, you don't have to retype its caption or worry about sizing and it is no longer associated.
    Dang! too slow again.
