put a label on the form, set the color just beside the color of the form.
subtle but still visible.
but cant do it for datasheet view.
If you use an image control you have way more flexibility with the text. It can be Word Art, ghosted, slanted 45 degrees - pretty much anything you can create.

Apply the same process for a form. But as ranman said, can't do with Datasheet View. Would have to set form as Continuous and arrange controls to appear as datasheet.
