    Columns

I have a report that has a list of names. I only want the names to go down to 5 and then start another column. Is there a way to do that?

Hi UT227, here's a way to have columns in your report : https://www.techonthenet.com/access/...eport_2007.php
Then you would have to adjust the heigt of your detail section so you get only the first 5 names.

That almost worked. But, the column went all the way up to the top of the report. I only want the next column to start next to the original field.

Can you show a pic of your report design for that portion at least? The second column can't go any higher than the first because the data is in the same control no matter how many columns IIRC, so I'm not understanding your meaning.

When I do the column, I want the PersonnelSched Header with columns, nothing else. I clicked on the header and did the columns. When I did a print preview, the column when all the way up to the Class Header.

    Try with subreport

You have to use subreport if you don't want all your page in two columns.
The subreport cannot be auto extensive and you'd have to play with width to have your 2 columns.

Here's what I got using subreport : Click image for larger version.

The difference I see is that in the example the control was in the detail section. Yours is not. You could try putting it there.

I put it in the detail section too. It didn't make any difference.

Subreport isn't working out either. Not sure what's going on. I'm thinking that my master child link isn't working right. Gonna have to go over that again.
