Idea's on how to create a database

I have been out of the access world for a couple years and need to create a database, but would like some ideas and any pointers. I own a small small lawn care company and need this database to create monthly billings. I guess I will need a couple tables for customer information, job types, products. From there on I am forgetting what I need to do next. I am basically looking to have all the information to be pulled from the tables to a bill for each person and to be printed. At the end I want to create a dashboard to add customers, edit customers, delete customers, run billings, save and close. Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi Bentley68,

    May be for starters..

    Code:
    tblCustomer
CustomerID - Auto number Primary Key
    FirstName
    LastName
    Address
    City
    PostalCode
    Phone

    Code:
    tblDetails
WorkID - Auto number Primary Key
CustomerID - Foreign Key from Customer table
    WorkDate
    WorkDetails
    MoreStuff
    You could add Invoice also...

    hth

Okay now I have my structure setup with my tables. Now I am trying to take the information in the table and make a bill. Basically I need to make a bill that already has my name and address on it for each bill and then take each line in the tblCustomer table and put that in the bill. My problem I am having is when I create a form, I cannot make a bill for each person. Any help, or did I just screw something up?

Have you looked at the templates that come with Access or are available on line at Microsoft? There are some very good ones.

Use them even and pass them off as your own. I've done it before. A little change to other peoples' work goes a long way!

I should clarify this. do NOT pass them off as your own. use their ideas but do not claim ownership. This can get you into trouble.
