Is it possible/adviseable to open pdf from a Report textbox containing the pdf pathway?

I have a search parameter form that passes a sql string to a report. On the report is a pathway to a pdf file. The pdf file is a manifest, and the operator is searching the manifests as quickly as possible to find a name on one of the manifests.

If possible, it would be very convenient to simply treat the pathway as a hyperlink, however I am not having any success with this method and am wondering if it is even possible?

Would it be preferable to base a form in datasheet view based on the parameter form and then add a GoTo hyperlink on the pathway?

Any help appreciated as I am here at work til I get it done...

So I would bind the new form to the parameter query, datasheet view, and would you have any advice on how to provide a hyperlink to the pdf based on a pathway?

Are you not already passing this path value to the report from a code built sql statement? Why not just use the Open file (or Application.FollowHyperlink) method right after the existing form's event that opens the report?
