    Multiple users with validations

I have knowledge of excel but not of access. My requirements are as below and have come to know that access database doesn't hangs or gets corrupted with huge data whereas my excel file gets corrupted with huge data which i have prepared to get the below results.

    1. There are multiple users who will work simultaneously
    2. There are few fields/headings which they are required to fill for each record on which they work and around 10 users work on about 100 records each every day (i.e. ~ 1000 entries each day)
    3. Based on few pre assigned fields/headings if there is already a matching record then it should get highlighted so that user knows that it already exists

As i am new to access can this be done and is it possible to pull a report to know how many and which entries were entered as duplicate along with the user names?

Any quick help would be much appreciated. Will provide more info/clarity if required.
