Access database engine could not find the object MSysDb

That's pretty much the whole problem. Here are a few pertinent details

    1. This database runs just fine on my regular Laptop PC.
    2. There is a single ODBC connection to a SQL Server back end.
    3. I have just put this database on a different laptop for testing purposes.
    4. I created a matching ODBC connection on the 2nd laptop and tested it successfully.
    5. Opening the database up on the 2nd laptop gives the following error.

Size:	28.5 KB

    6. I have searched the System objects in the Navigation Pane and could not find MSysDb.

I'm at another impasse an hoping you can help.

p.s. I tried opening the database with the Shift key down, but I get the same error.

There must have been a corruption.
can you copy and paste from a backup?
are all other SYS tables there?

You beat me to the punch. I transferred this app via a zip file. I went back and unzipped it again to a different location and this time opened the db without a problem. Rolling out this application has had so many bumps in the road I am losing track. This is not unexpected. I am back in business, at least for now.

    Thanks again,

    Paul

Question, did you ever get to the bottom of what was/is causing this 'msysDB' freak show?

    Cheers. Respectfully, Bill.

Did one of you post this question at another forum a few days ago?
Can't open my project file (couldn't fine 'MSysDb') | Access World Forums (access-programmers.co.uk)

As I stated in that thread:
MSysDb is not a system table. It is a system object used to manage the database itself.

If it really is missing or corrupted, then your database cannot be recovered and a backup is your only possible solution
Neither compacting nor decompiling will be possible in this situation
MSysDb is NEVER shown in the navigation pane as it is not a table

    @isladogs
Two different people if they are telling the truth.

Stange how it has come up twice is a short period of time though.
