Access form with multiple check boxes that populate 1 multi value field in table

    Hi all,

Newbie questions and sorry if it has been asked before.

I want to create a data entry and search form that looks like the current paper version. I want the staff to be able to check multiple locations they would like to work(25 options in total), 1 of the options needs to be "other" where they can put in a specific name . E.G North, South, West, East, Far North, Other = free text for specific town name. I would then like all of the checked boxes to be held in 1 multivalue field in the table so I can run a query on who wants to go where

    I am using access 2010

You might try using an option group. Try here for info:

I would avoid using multivalue fields under any circumstances.
If this helped, please click the star at the bottom left of this posting and add to my reputation . Many thanks.

As Bob said - most developers would avoid using multi-valued fields.
There are samples as nhorton79 points out. Martin Green (fontstuff) has a wealth of info and samples.

Woah. Just actually reread your question....you want to store all the checkbox fields in one field? Nope. Can be done but don't do it.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
