    I would like the result to be something like

    Mango = 12456554654
    Apple = 65456456
    Orange 45451
    Pear = 34234

    Orange = 6456456

    i have look thru http://www.gcflearnfree.org/access2013/19 but does not seem what i wanted.
    Need some experts guidance on how to get the sum from one column basing on summary of another column.
    please help and thank you.

    Have you tried creating a query and using the Totals tool? You can start by creating a standard SELECT query, then click the Totals tool in the Ribbon. Doing so will add a Total row to the grid at the bottom of the designer. You can change the option from Group By to Sum, as well as other options.
