What is an Access Project vs. database

I have a pic uploaded showing the VB editor. I am trying to understand the difference between an Access Project and Database. How is an Access Project defined?

In the screenshot, there is something called Central Repository - Experimental (Microsoft Access Forum) at the highest level. Is this a project or a database or something else?

The reason I am confused is because I have a database called Central Repository - Experimental and another database called Microsoft Access Forum.

So my questions are these:

1. How is an Access project defined?


2. Why is it that two different database names are seemingly being combined into one?

AFAIK, Access projects were an aspect of Access 2003 and earlier. I have never worked with one.

It is possible you have a split database. This is when the data tables are in one Access file and the file in located on a network central server - this is the backend. All other components (queries, forms, reports, code) of the db are in another Access file (or some other GUI interface) - this is the frontend. The frontend links to the tables of the backend. Copies of frontend would be placed on each user's location workstation.
