Help regarding calculation field

Hi Team,

I am creating a table in access and i want a calculation field to calculate the total of some 6 to 7 fields like com1,com2,com3---com7.
My requirement is that as soon as i will enter the values in com1,com2,com7 the value ie total should reflect in total field instantly.
Pls help me out.

Sounds like a job for Excel. What do the values represent? what other info is in the table.

the values represents components value like application fee value,monthly fee value etc.other columns are program name and plan name of student.Actually it is a student database

the calculations shouldn't be stored in a table, they should be generated in reports instead. Is the application fee the same for every student? and the monthly fee.. is that the same for everyone?

if they are different, why are they different?

I never use calculated fields in tables.

This sounds like you do not have a normalized table structure. Structures like that is like a spreadsheet -short and wide.
Access tables are tall and narrow.

Look into normalization.
