Help with DB records in a split Access 2007 application

I developed an access 2007 application and then did a split later into that application + DB thing.. now i wanted to use the same application for a different customer and hence did a copy paste of them into a new folder. To reset the tables, I accessed the reference tables in the application itself and deleted the rows... by this time I did not change the names of copied objects. Now when I go back to my original application and even the backups of it, it shows the deleted records in the reference tables in the application and that is the issue. The .be file is still showing the data but the application does not seem to be referring it but the attached tables with it.

Not sure if I was very clear with that but I am myself comparatively new to the concept of split database and hence the trouble .

    Please advice.

in your new copy, you need to relink the front end to the back end, otherwise it is still 'looking at' the old copy. Find the linked table manager in the external data tab and follow the prompts

oh.. so now that I deleted all the data from the new copy, it also got deleted from the original version. Is their a way to recover this lost content or checking the backup versions is the only way out?

No - the data will only be deleted from the table you deleted it from - easy to check, just open each backend and see what is there

If you deleted the data via a front end then the data will be deleted from whichever backend it is connected to. I thought you were saying you had copied the original backend and frontend to a new folder. if this is the case then your new frontend will still be linked to the original backend until your relink it to the new backend (access won't magically do this for you)

And the copied BE will still have/should have the records you deleted from the original BE.
