    Massive data loss

Everything is fine because I saved a backup before I started working/testing as always. But information relating to the forms I was working on just disappeared.

What could I have done to cause that?

Maybe broke a relationship on the form? I don't see how hundreds of records can just vanish.

all information in the tables jobs and notes has gone.

Additionally looking at the backups, the older backup with less data is 3x the size of the newer one with more records. Confusing,.

Are you using an Access front end/backend set up with a wireless network?

have you opened the tables to make sure the data is really gone?
There could be a filter on in your form.

Design edits will cause db size to bloat. Run Compact & Repair after edits. If this is a split db, the backend should not need C&R often.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

I am yes orange. The only thing I did within the time of this was change some forms. Also I'm sure the data was gone from the tables.

Found out why it happened. I was editing our staff list and deleted the 'test' staff record. It was a required field in the jobs so they were all deleted too.
