    Action on Form Buttons

    http://www.functionx.com/access/Lesson15.htm

In the tutorial whose website I have shown above at the last section it has you create
three buttons on the Customers1 form.

They are: Contact, Personal Information and Comments. That is easy enough.

It does not tell you how to use the Control Wizard button to get the action on the
forms that you want. Maybe that is all that is required at this stage. Anyway, I have looked and
completed Bethesda Car Rental db's and their Cutsomer1 forms and they do things when you click
    a button. Mine do not.

How does one find out how to use the Control Wizard to get my buttons to do these things.

    Thanks in advance.

    Respectfully,

I avoid the wizards. However, using one should be self-explanatory. Once it is open, just follow the prompts.

What actions do you want each of these buttons to accomplish?

Maybe another lesson will deal with programming these buttons. Maybe at this point the lesson expects you take initiative and program them as you wish.

I know the actions like closing a form. But accessing (no pun intended) a subform has not been discussed. I just think from what is written that they
want you to access the form button through the Control Wizard.

Is there a way to do a post opt on the button and see in a working button what option were chosen during its creation by the wizard?

    What is 'post opt'?

Can certainly make choices through the wizard and let it create code (embedded macro) then view the macro constructed.

The buttons in the example MS Access 2010 db were created once, correctly. Thus I need to know what choices the database creator made when using the wizard to create those buttons and its actions so I can glean how do I do it?

I do not know what the actions are on the wizard, so now I hope that by looking at one db that is complete and done correctly, that it will give me an idea of what actions to take on my creation of buttons when done using the wizard.

In other words what did they do so I can duplicate it. That is what I meant by post opt.

Wizard should have created an embedded macro. Should see [Embedded Macro] in the event property. Click the ellipsis (...) to open the macro builder and view setup.
