Question Subform view in design view-no controls visible

Using A2007 with W7. Whenever I first switch to the design mode on a form that contains a subform, the subform appears as an enclosed blank with a title and no access to the controls. If I switch back to form view, then back to design view, I can then see the subform's controls and to go ahead and make my changes.

This doesn't happen on my other files, so suspect it to be something that I unintentionally made happen. Is there some way to change things back so that I always get access to the controls on the subform on first switch to design view? Any help much appreciated. Small problem but very annoying.

It happens, just edit the sub form DIRECTLY...dont go thru the master form.
(tho sometimes you can double-click the subform in the master form edit to GET to the subform edit)

I was hoping that didn't have to look at form separately. There are a couple of links to controls on the main code. So, when I make a change on the subform code, I like to open the main form, and test the changes before I save them. With just viewing the subform after double clicking it, I have to save changes before I can go back and open the main form for full testing.

I am curious as to why earlier versions of this same program do not do this. Any ideas? Note: appreciate the double click hint-much handier than closing and reopening.

All controls on the subform should show as long as the form used as subform isn't already independently open. I really don't know why this happens with your form. Could try rebuilding the form/subform and see if the issue persists.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

I made copies of Subs, deleted originals and pasted copies back into parent form. Kind of a rebuild. Worked! Thanks. Will mark as solved. (as soon as I remember how to do it.)
