    Administrative Riights

I created an access-2007 file in a system, named 'Principal-PC' with win 7 as the OS without any encryption. Later on I changed my system with win-8.1 as OS with 'Administrator' as the user and installed Access 2010. The access file in the new OS opens in a read-only mode and denies editing. It also asks me to save a copy to enable editing and permits me save only in the Admin folder. The same story repeats when I copy this file elsewhere. I browsed the net for an answer; but nothing seems to work. How can I fix this?

Does the folder you use have 'all access' rights?
Does the database have any protection, all users with all rights?

The folder was created for the particular user 'Principal' but has all access rights. the database doe not have any protection. I'm using the same hard disk which has the access file as a secondary disk where as the primary disk has win 8.1 OS.

Ensure that the location you are running the dB in is a trusted location. Long shot, but is worth a look.
