    Question about database

I am working on some project and noticed something that I don't understand what and how to do it.
What I have to do is:

    • Make a ERD model in Case Studio
    • Then make a DB in Access or Firebird (I will use MS Access 2013)

I have already made ERD model in Case Studio but now I don't understand this with DB in Access. Is there a way to transfer this file to Access or do I need to make everything from scratch in it?
I know this is probably a stupid question, but I really have no idea.
    Thanks!

if your ERD is just, for lack of a better term, a picture of your database structure, yes, you have to rebuild the components in the database to show the structure you imagine, i.e. create separate tables with field names as they appear in your diagram with the correct primary key, etc.

The ERD can be considered a "blueprint" or "design document" for the proposed database. It is not an automated process within Access to create the tables.
I don't know Case Studio, but there were/are some software packages(ERWin, and others) that work(ed) in conjunction with an ERD to build tables and keys.

But I just looked at http://www.casestudio.com/enu/databases.aspx and see that it has the ability to generate the SQL to create tables and keys and indexes.
And that Microsoft Access 2007/2010 (and others) is a supported database. It is possible that the module to generate the SQL for tables is a separate component that is not available to you. If you are a school or college, I would expect such a module to be available. You may have to read up on Case studio table generation facility to see how it works and how to use it.

    Good luck.
