    New access user

    Hi everyone,

am a relatively new user to access so need some help if possible.

Am trying to create a database where a user will fill in a form (which I have already created) which creates a new record in a database (also already created).

I will then need some way of 4 different users to be notified of this new record and prompted to fill in their bits and then approve / not approve the record. (there is a column where I have inserted a drop down to say "approve", "more info required", "dont approve".

So what I need to know (and cant seem to find on google), is how do I do this? Which do I need.. a query or a new form?.. I figured i'd need a form... so I have built one.. but I just cant seem to get it to work..

I also want to build a query where the user types in a phrase and if the query finds the form it returns all the records with this phrase... ( but thats the last step need to figure out everything else first)

So you guys are my next point of contact... would really appreciate it.

Or a quick how to guide if anyone knows whre I can find one...

    THANK YOU in advance.

    T

If you're using Microsoft Outlook for your e-mail you can create a module that will send out an email. I currently have a number of Access Databases that run at specific times that automatically run a report, export the report to PDF and then email the PDF to the correct people. Do a search on Sending email from Microsoft Access that should get you some ideas depending on your mail system.
