Number showing instead of text on a report.

I have a database that I have set up that has a list of units/areas. When I run a query numbers and text shows correctly. When I create a report based on the query, the report shows the ID number from the list instead of the value associated with the ID. For example,

    ID Unit number
    1 1
    2 2
    13 Admin
    etc.

When I run the query I get "Admin" where it needs to be. Once I run a report based on that query I get "13" where I want admin. Please let me know what I need to get this corrected.
Pretty new to Access but enjoy learning more and more.
    Thank you.

Sounds like you've used a lookup field:

Number 5 offered two solutions. I'd use the second, base the report on a query that joins the two tables.

Thank for the suggestion. I was able to pull another query and then change the record source on the reports so I didn't have to start over with designing a new report.

It also helped that I realized I didn't have my relationships to tables set correctly as well. Now on to the next challenge I am putting myself through.
