Cool Not able to sort in detail area

I can not sort my records by date in the detail area. In the report, I've setup a couple of fields to group by and the date field to sort by. I put a lot of the field in the header area such as their shift, manager and course. But put the dates along with other fields in the detail area of the report.

Also, I'm running a query from the control source and I set the date to sort in accending order per the query. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Please Helpppppp.....

In my experience, report will ignore sort order set in query if Grouping is used.

Use query or table but need to apply report sorting in the Grouping & Sorting setup pane.

I did use the grouping and sorting pane, " I've setup a couple of fields to group by and the date field to sort by."

Then you said "and I set the date to sort in accending order per the query". This was not setting sort order in query?

If you have set the date field as the sort parameter in the report that should work - does for me. What happens? What does the report show?

If you want to provide db for analysis, follow instructions at bottom of my post.

I clicked the Grouping & Sorting button and it gave me a pane to set the groups and sorting parameter.

When I posted it, I seen what was wrong. I added courses as one of the group. My bag...
