I am using Access 2013 to manage several Access databases - some as old as 7 years. These databases serve only as report generators for data gathered via ODBC from an Oracle database. All databases were recently updated to the latest version.
Now that the update has been done, it appears that any new buttons added to the main menu form in any database causes the form (or at least the buttons) to open in design view. When subsequent people log in, they are greeted with the "You do not have exclusive access to the database at this time. If you proceed to make changes, you may not be bale to save them later" message. This happens whether or not anyone who previously logged in is doing any editing.
The reason I suspect the buttons is that the message will appear as many times as there are new buttons. For example, yesterday I installed 3 new buttons on a form. When I returned to the database later that day after someone else had opened the database, I was greeted with the message three times and had to click "OK" as each error message appeared. After that, the database appeared to operate normally.
I am looking for a way to go back and edit any current buttons to stop them from causing this behavior and a way to prevent the behavior from happening as new buttons are added.
