Is it possible to make a form with seperate permissions? For instance, a form that lets users add a new entry, but does not allow them to view other entries or any of the tables?

Yes it is. Save a copy of your database before creating permissions, you may get it wrong the first time and get locked out of your own forms.

You can manually create same via the Security menu, I think that it's under Tools.

Litwin, Getz et al's Access 2002 (or 2000) Developer's Handbook, Enterprise Edition has extensive code re same. I bought a used copy on Amazon for $10 + shipping.

First create Security "Groups" then members of each "Group" then each new member (user) of that group requires one entry in the Groups as opposed to each object.

Awesome, after going to the options menu, I found the commands you speak of. However, I can't actually use any of them. They're grayed out. Is there a certain pre-requisite that needs to be filled before I can use them?

You probably don't have a full installation of Access, otherwise the menu item would not be grayed out.

I don't think that's the problem. I was sent another database from a coworker, and I could use the tools on that database, but not this one.

Is there already an "MDW" extension file associated with your database. Otherwise, I don't have a clue.

To my knowledge there is no MDW file associated with it. Couldn't find one anyways, and I never made one. Even sent it to myself to try it on a different computer, didn't work.

Create a new database with one table and try to create permissions.

If you can't, the problem is with your Access installation. If you can, it's a problem with your database.

What did you do or stumble into?

New database, no permissions functions. The only db I can manage to have the ability to use those functions is the one I was sent by a coworker. Well, might as well see if I can use their base, copy over all the tables, save it under a new name and still be able to use them.

BTW, not controlling anything as expensive as the Phoenix Mars Lander, but the company idea isn't too far off.

If you're at JSC, I'm literally a rock's throw away; worked on Apollo and Skylab programs, then got into the oil & gas business, then back to database programming.

That's pretty awesome. Import wizard worked like a charm, got permissions usage and all my data.
