Making a query editable between two databases

Currently, I have a query that pulls up costs side by side from two different databases. The databases are both in the same folder on one of our shared network drives. I want to be able to edit the costs as needed, but the query is not allowing me to. I know it can be done, because I have another query I use that pulls from 2 different databases (1 is on our network drive and the other one I access through an ODBC connection) and that query allows me to edit the tables in both databases. I'm hoping this is something simple. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi -

There could be a couple of reasons for it. First, if the query is a summation query, it will not be editable.

Second, check the fields used to join the tables - they should have an index on them in both tables. You'd be surprised how often that fixes that particular problem.

John - thank you for responding. Well, the query isn't a summation query, so rules that one out. I did check the linking fields and did change one of them to Index - yes (the other one already was indexed), closed Access, went back in and ran the query but I still can't edit it. Open to any other suggestions! :-)
