    Cool Old accessmonster

does anybody remember the old version of accessmonster, it was around when i was doing some mods to some db's about 5 years ago. I recall that there may have been a plce were it could be downloaded in it's entirety as a zip file.

This is a great site here, but i recall some features there were handy even though i can't recall any specifics. just like to have another look if possible, maybe somebody has a copy of it someware.

    Hi,
It was the best online forum for access back about 5 years ago i used that a lot, very similar to this site but it seemed to have a better feel to it. I recall that it may have been made available as a download with all the history inculded.

Oh, now that you mention 'forum' that does sound familiar. How an entire forum could be available as a download is beyond me. Now this is all I can find http://www.accessmonster.com/

I used to search that forum all of the time. For some reason searching that forum, before it was overrun by spammers, was easy. I can't imagine downloading the forum would be much help today.

That's the new one taken over the name, it's crap, just a load of adds, not even a forum to be found.
the original was similar to here, the download was large, perhaps about 20-30mb, and at the time I didn't think to save it. but the historical data is still relevant, and you don't get many answers here for old stuff. Some people just don't like to update their systems - car mechanics, brikies!

I believe AccessMonster was a web interface to Microsoft newsgroups, after MS replaced their newsgroups with answers.microsoft.com, social.microsoft.com, etc., there weren't much activity there.

You can find the archives on Google groups, here is one: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!fo...access.queries

Usenet newsgroup used to be popular and covers almost any topics, but they are basically unmoderated forums with very limited features. I would be surprised to find any newsgroups that's still in active use.

Bah hah hah. I clicked on one of the links and read some of the thread. Here is what one of the posters said. Maybe it isn't funny but I got a kick out of it because I was looking at the dates for the thread and thinking to myself that this is pretty recent stuff here.....

Do note that this newsgroup was abandoned by Microsoft several years ago. Only
a very few of us ghosts still hang around it. There's a lot more traffic on
the Web forums listed below in my sig.
