Field ID error

I am trying to change the data type to a Yes/No in design view and it is giving me the error:



Some data may be lost. The setting for the FieldSize property of one or more fields has been changed to a shorter size. If data is lost, validation rules may be violated as a result. Do you want to continue anyway?

Why isn't it allowing me to change it?

it will allow the change - it is just warning you that the change is going to delete data. a yes/now can only be 2 values: 0 and -1 - - and current data in your table that is not those is going to be deleted....just carry on and approve the change if that is really what you want to do......
