Hello,
I'm very new to this so please be gentle! I'm a teacher and I have created a database where we log behaviourly issues. It has a column for incident data, pupil name, year group, issue, behaviour type and location. I would like to create a report that utilmately subtotals the Year Group, Behaviour Type and Location columns.
Each record looks something like this:
22/10/13 PUPIL NAME, 3, THEY WERE NAUGHTY, Physical Aggression, Playtime
I have made a query that strips everything away I do not need so now it just reads:
22/10/13 3, Physical Aggression, Playtime
I would like the report to total all the Year 3's, all the Year 4's, all the Year 5's and all the Year 6's and present in a table showing quantity and percentage of total (I would really like a pie chart too but I'll have a look at that later.)
Then I would like another table that totals all the different behaviour types and puts totals and a percentage. Finally, I would like a table that totals all the different Locations and a percentage.
Basically, the entire report would be small tables (and pie charts eventually!).
I have tried with the grouping and playing around but I've had mixed results. It doesn't seem to split the columns so I get lots and lots of figures e.g. Year 3 and then broken down to Physical Agression and Verbal Aggression etc etc. I just want the separate figures for each if that makes sense.
I know I could do this is Excel but seem to be really struggling here. Let me know if you would like me to upload the database and some screen shots of what I would like it to look like.
Thank you,
SBE
