Listbox won't save format for field in query

I have a listbox with a datefield (the table field has a short date format) I want to change this to a long date for the listbox but when I exit the record source query it won't save the format in the field in the select query.



It reverts back to the short date. I can't seem to save the changes I made. If I open the record source, look at the query, change the format on the field and then run it displays correctly but won't save.

I usually list the date and time in separate fields. I don't always have a time to insert. Maybe the info is there. Have you tried copying the date out of the table and pasting it into an unbound textbox formatted for the long date?

Either the data is there or it is not.

I might make a custom field in the query, refer to the other field and format that
