Angry You do not have exclusive access

Yesterday I started to build a new database - five tables, four forms. Today I cannot continue developing it further because "You do not have exclusive access to the database at this time. If you proceed to make changes, you may not be able to save them later". To right - I can't save my changes. I have followed all the help. So lets make it very very clear. It is a single user database on my C: drive of my unnetworked PC. I do not want to install source safe. I am the only user. The database is mine - I created it. I only have one windows login id on my PC. I use Kaspersky internet security.

Sorry if I sound a little terse.

Is there any .ldb file in the same folder as your database? If so that's a problem. It might work to just copy the DB in another folder to continue working on it.

    Thank you Symlink,
I had spent at least two hours researching this problem. But just the desperation action of joining and posting to AccessForums made my database work again.
I had not checked out the record locking file. its a laccdb file that should be available only while the database is active. It is quite possible that it was not deleted. If it happens again I will remember your advice.
    Thank you

Same problem and almost everything is the same by the poster , but what if I have no other .laccdb in the same folder and still getting the error message?
