    Formulas in imported data

    Hi,

Is it a good idea to import excel data that has a vlookup into access ? One of my columns has a date ie. 19/12/2012 and three columns that seperate the data with Month() Year() formulas and a third that lookups the month name with a small vlookup into another tab. What will happen if I import that into access ?

    Thanks for your help

Not sure other than the VLookup will not work.

IIRC, calculated cells in Excel get converted to values when imported into Access. Just like when you export a worksheet to a text or CSV file, the values are exported, not formulas.

It really shouldn't matter, because you shouldn't store the month, year and month name in a table because they easily can be calculated when needed.
