splitting database - different computers running different O/S (Win7- XP)

some of the computers running in company is running Win7 and some XP - is this going to cause a problem when going to split database for all to share when need to do this? does everyone have to have Access 2010 running in computer to run the forms?

or do i need to create a .EXE for the different forms needed to run and import data into the backend files?

    TIA

    Stephanie

I don't think that should be an issue. We have split databases at our work, and users on different O/S and versions of Office, and it works fine.
The only thing to remember is to program the database in the lowest verion of Access your users may be using. So if some users have Access 2007 and others have Access 2010, program the database in Access 2007. Newer versions of Access *usually* have very little problems reading/running older versions of Access. The converse it not true.

ok now here is the big kicker...does each computer have to some version of access to read the Front End or Access 2010 must be running in background? because of the macros set forth in this DB i can not convert it to an earlier version to be read

    again TIA

I refer back to what I said in my previous post. To summarize/clarify:
    - If any users are using Access 2007 (and nothing earlier than that), program both the Front and Back ends in Access 2007
    - If everyone is using Access 2010, it is fine to use Access 2010 for both the Front and Back ends

Doing this will minimize you risk of issues.

what about creating an .EXE format? can that be done for those that can not get Access 2010 in their computers?

I don't work much with Access Runtime, but I don't see why not.
