Exclamation Corrupted Characters in Access 2007 Database

    Hi All,

First time poster but i plan to get into the forum more and help also.

I have a database that is run on a citrix server, The problem that is occuring is corrupted chinese characters showing up when a new record is made.

We think it could be that when the main table is left open while another user entering data is corrupting the data. We have never experienced this problem before
and it truly has us confused. The corrupted data can only be deleted in the back end file and when it happens it is locking up all the front end data from the specific table
except for a form that only looks up one record at a time, the record that gets the corrupted data no longer looks up the specific corrupted row because the corruption
is changing the lookup source and well as what ever we are trying to edit.

Any ideas on how this is happening?

    Thanks!

The first thing to look at is does every user have their own front end. If not then this is a must.

Have you done a Compact and Repair on both the front end and the back end.

Is the Front end a compiled version. mde or acdde or what ever it is in 2007.

Just a couple of things to get the ball rolling.

No, there is just the one front end for everybody.

Our system is pretty complicated as it runs through a citrix server on the other side of Australia.

Since i posted this i have had the problem a couple more times so it has been recurring, one of the times
i was unable to delete the row from the backend because it came up with an error. I literally had to move
the data into my c:/ copy and delete it there then replace the live data with it.

As you probably know that was not ideal. So having a different front end for each user would make things better?
It is run through access 2007 .mde but whenever editting the front end we use access 2003 .mdb

    Thanks!
