link to csv with TransferText opens Navigation Pane

    Hi
I'm new to this forum, so apologies if this question has already been asked and answered - I couldn't find it in the forum search.

I am linking to a csv file using TransferText method and apparently it is a known bug that it opens the Navigation Pane on the LH side of the screen [2007].

Is there an alternative to using TransferText for this job? I don't want to edit the file, just link to it using vba.

    Thanks

    Nijal

hmmm I am confused by your description

link means it appears as a table in the table objects
transfertext means you are importing the data

if the navigation pane visibility is an issue how about making it not visible
