Retrieve data from different servers and different databases

this is a brain teaser ....


is it possible to retrieve information from different servers that are using different databases?

these databases could be sql 2005, 2008, or even oracle.


i would like to know if it is possible to do this ?

i have read this article , and basically it comes down to this....

hope i ain't wrong about it now...

do i have to create a "generic" connection string that will be able to check all the different servers and their databases and still be able to retrieve the information that i requested and display this in a grid view?

No, each connection to a different server/database would require it's own string. More commonly you'd use a DSN to link table(s) from each to your Access db, letting you query any of them as necessary (1 DSN for each server/database).
