    Property value is too large

I noticed that after I set a field's property to multiple values, I get the following popup whenever I try to delete a field within my primary table: "Property value is too large." I initally set this field as a lookup field and did not set it to allow multiple values. The original property of the field was 'text' with a limit of 255 characters.

Now I can't do anything to my main table as far as deleting any fields. I can enter my data fine but I guess my design is now busted. I know I can't backtrack to not allowing multiple values as a property because access doesn't allow that.

Appreciate any help. I tried copying over the table to a new table and it does the same thing, I can't delete any fields with the same popup.

I'd hate to lose all my work so don't know what to do.

    Thanks!

Another reason not to use multi-value fields (I refuse to.) However, in my experimentation with multi-value never encountered this issue. If you want provide the db for analysis, follow instructions at bottom of my post.

Did you run Compact & Repair?

    Response and additional help

Thanks for the reply. May I send you just the database with just the structure and the data cut out? I can maybe leave a few records for you to look at? Would that work?

Additionally, due to constraint of 'ownership' of where the database resides, I cannot run the compact and repair function due to Administrative Privileges; I'm using a government PC and company owned laptop.

    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Jean

Yes, scrubbed db should be adequate.

Can you copy the database to laptop and test the C&R? How can you have permission to edit the db (add/delete fields, add/delete records) but not permission to run C&R?
