Should I be Using Access for this?

I am trying to convert a CSV file that I receive from UPS to a simpler table. I have over 3000 entries from 25 different locations and I need to evaluate the shipping cost. Is there a way in Access to convert the file as attached or should I be trying to use Excel?

You could use either to do it - depending on your comfort level. In Excel you can set up a second sheet that references the first and places all items in the format you want them in, though admittedly it would take me longer to do it that way than it would for me to import or link a sheet like that into access and query based on what is wanted.

Based on the number of entries and locations, I would suggest Access - but again, it all depends on your comfort level. Some Excel guru may post five seconds after me and state that Excel is perfect for this... :-)

I haven't work a lot with Access. How do you gather information about Shipment 1 if it's spread over 3 rows & at least 38 columns?
