    iff statements in macro

i have a user scanning his barcoded tag into access when starting a task.
If there is an open task this will first be prompted to close this task. Once the task is closed he will be directed back to the start and go throught the scanning process agin untill he reaches the page where he can start a new tasks.

Is there anyway with the macro opening the query if the result on open taks is null to direct the user directly to the start task page by using iff statements in the macro?

It depends on how you determine what an "open task" is, but yes there should be a way to do that. You may have to use VBA code though instead of a Macro.

If you can provide more information on the program, I could be more specific.
