    Access fails to open Outlook

Occurs when I try using the Create Email button. I've enabled the access add in in Outlook. Same message comes up when Outlook is closed or open.

    Can anyone lend a hand?

    Cheers

I have seen that issue, never really figured out why. This is an old laptop so thought it was just a quirk of this old Windows XP. It was quite some time ago and I have since rebooted my computer several times and so just now tested the Send Email from ribbon and worked great. I have no idea how this 'fixed'. Maybe next week it won't work again.

Did you google the error message? Here is one http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2022778?wa=wsignin1.0

Thanks for that link. Unfortunately the fix failed to make a difference

Could be any number of reasons for this issue. Just have to keep searching until you find solution for your particular situation (or it just fixes itself as in my case).

Have you tried to reinstall Outlook?

Didn't work for me either. I avoid MS 'Paint By Numbers' solutions and when necessary open Outlook or any other Automation Application using the CreateObject/GetObject commands. However I thought, as I too experience the '... could not be started ...' error, I would try the fix. Made no difference whatever.
