    Main Switchboard in Runtime

I have built 2 nearly identical databases to keep track of a public speaking schedule.
I built the first one with Access 2000, I rebuilt it with Access 2010.
In Access, both databases work smoothly.

When I open the first with Runtime 2010, it works just fine from the Main Switchboard.
When I open the newer one with Runtime 2010, the Main Switchboard does not open.
I have compared the File/Options/Current Database property sheets and they appear identical.
The only difference I can see is that Access 2010 has a Switchboard Manager.
(Actually, not sure if Access 2000 had this feature)
Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

Do you mean that the switchboard is not showing when you open the db? In v2007, MS changed a few things (didn't they just!).

To get a form (i.e. switchboard) to show when the db is opened: click on the circular office button (top left-hand corner) and at the bottom of the new window select 'Access Options.' Then select 'Current Database' in the left-hand pane of the options window. Near the top is a combo box labelled, 'Display Form.' Select your switchboard form from the dropdown list.

(Prior to v2007 you had to use a macro called 'Autoexec.')

    Yes,
    I tried all of that.
The thing that is new to me is the "Switchboard Items" table.
I tried using the Edit feature and "Open Main Switchboard", but am not sure if that works yet.

I confess to being a little confused.

What is this Switchboard Items table? Where did it come from if you did not build it? Are you using some form of MS template wizard?

Best thing for you to do is publish the misbehaving db, preferrably as v2007 - I can't read v2010. Simply use Save As and choose v2007. Then zip the resulting accdb and use the Go Advanced feature here to add the zipped file as an attachment.

    Switchboard Manager?

I am glad that I am not the only one confused.
I have been searching the web for more information on the Switchboard Manager command in the Database Tools ribbon.
Most have indicated they can't even find it.
I will strip out the confidential information and send you a zip.
If I can't get this to work in Runtime, I will have to educate myself on how to build Web database.

    OK,
    I got it figured out.
First design your database from the Tables up.
Set Relationships, build Queries, build Forms, Build Reports, build Macros.
And if you are way smarter than me, play with VBA.
Then use the Switchboard Manager - it is in the Database Tools ribbon.
If you have not yet created a "Main Switchboard", the Switchboard Manager will create a template for you.
    Click "Switchboard Manager"
    Select "Edit"
    Select "New"
Text Reads - New Switchboard Command
Command Reads - Go To Switchboard
Select Switchboard - Main Switchboard - from the drop down box.
Beta tested in Microsoft Access Runtime 2010
